ESL field trip (March.4.2011)
International students me, Eddie, Richard, Rena and Rina we went to the field trip.
First we went to the Hawaiian Old Village the name of "Lapakahi State Historical Park" there have each number on the gound, so easy to found the things and also we have map so easy to recognized the biuld, plant, and the way. There have old houses, fishing place, make salt stone, and houses a canoe.
This is a "Konane" like checkers. The stone or wood checkerboard, has 64 depressions that hold the pebbles. The players make moves similar to checkers.
There have number 5, we have number 1 to 20. We saw almost 20 things, everything were interted and looks really old.
The village close to ocean, so they were fishing, made salt and boarded a canoe
After went Old Village we went to the "Spencer beach park". We ate lunch in there the beach was so nice, clean, and quiet about 1hour we enjoyed.
After we went to "Puʻukoholā Heiau" That day was really hot, so we hard to walk. But after went to the beach we were felt better.
This is when they worship, put the food and blessed of food to God. The behind Ocean is the best time to see the black tipped reef sharks at Pu'ukohola Heiau National Historic Site is usually just after sunrise. On good days, you may see close to 20 sharks swimming in area just a couple hundred feet from the shore!
"Puʻukoholā Heiau" This temple was built by Kamehameha 1 in 1790~91. Its platform was crowded with ceremonial structures. Today, it is the location of cultural events.
We were fun and sometime go out to school is really good, refrech my brain and relax. Also I learned many kinds about Hawaiian Old Village and Kamehameha king.
